• For the comfort of our guests, we operate a no smoking policy within the cottage.

   

• Our cottage is on the edge of Chapel Stile - about 5-10 minutes walk away.
• No 1 has the special advantage of being the end cottage in Lingmoor View. 
• Large communal lawn at the front overlooking the valley - we provide garden chairs for you.
• Plenty of easy evening strolls.  An exceptionally pleasant walk takes you beside the river which is only about 5 minutes away.
• For serious walkers, the ridge walk to the Langdale Pikes can be easily reached from a path behind the cottage.
• If you would like a guided walk, the Rambler's Association might be able to help.
• The excellent local shop in the nearby village of Chapel Stile is well stocked with hiking gear as well as a wide variety of food and wines.  It also has a delightful cafe serving home-made food.
• There are several good inns in the valley, all of which serve very good food.
• Chapel Stile has a friendly Parish Church with family services on Sunday mornings at 10.30am. See their quite remarkable Millenium Tapestry.
• The Langdales Country Club is also in the village. Membership can be had on a daily basis, which includes the use of their swimming pool, solarium, sauna and jacuzzi.

To see this delightful view, which is within 30ft of our cottage, just turn right up the stone steps as you leave our front door.
